Baloo’s Story –
Meet Baloo – Your Shy Sweetheart with a Big Heart.
Say hello to Baloo, our handsome black and white Boxer/Labrador Retriever mix with the sweetest soul! At just over one year old, this lovable guy has already won the hearts of everyone who’s gotten to know him–and he’s ready to find a forever home where he can truly shine.
Baloo came to us from another shelter where he spent about six months, some of that time in a loving foster home. In foster, he lived with another dog and two kiddos who he adored playing with. He especially loved romping around the fenced backyard, soaking up all the fun and affection a family has to offer.
He may be a little shy at first, but give him a moment and you’ll meet the real Baloo–a total cuddle bug who thrives on love and companionship. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and really enjoys doggie playgroups. He’s the kind of pup who would love a home with another friendly dog or someone who’s ready to spend time playing, walking, and snuggling with him.
Baloo is fully housetrained and knows how to use a doggie door. He’s also a great car rider and loads up like a pro, making him the perfect travel companion. He’s not the biggest fan of crates, so he’d prefer a home where he doesn’t have to spend too much time confined.
Leash walks? He’s a natural. Training? He’s food motivated, super smart, and picks things up quickly. Snacks and praise go a long way with this boy!

All animals at HSO are current on their vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. If not already spayed/neutered, there may be a short delay between when you select this pet and when they are ready to go home.
Breed and age are determined based on observable physical traits. Actual lineage and birth date are rarely known.
Adoption Fees:
-$60 for cats
-$60 for dogs over 6 years
-$80 for dogs 6 months old to 6 years
-$100 for puppies up to 6 months
Come visit our pets Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-2pm.
