Hi there, I’m Bobby, your friendly neighborhood black Lab mix with a little white patch on my chest and some very soulful chocolate-brown eyes. I’m about 4 years old and 52 pounds, and once you get to know me, you’ll see I’m a pretty gentle, thoughtful kind of guy.

I’ll be honest—I can be a little shy at first. New places and new faces make me pause and take things in. But if you come armed with a few treats, some patience, and a kind heart, I warm up quickly. Before you know it, I’ll be leaning in for ear rubs and belly scratches, because those are some of my favorite things in the world. I really want to do the right thing and I’m eager to learn—I already know sit and I walk nicely on a leash.

Life wasn’t always very kind to me. Before I came to the shelter, someone shot me with a BB gun near my heart. I was very lucky to survive, and even after that, I still believe people can be good. I have so much love left to give and I’m hoping to share it with someone who will be gentle with my heart—inside and out.

I’m a well-mannered fellow and I know how to use a doggie door. Since I was found as a stray, my humans can’t say for sure that I’m fully house-trained, but I always do my business outside in the kennel yard or on walks, so I’m off to a great start. I’m neutered and more than ready to find my forever family.

All animals at HSO are current on their vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. If not already spayed/neutered, there may be a short delay between when you select this pet and when they are ready to go home.

Breed and age are determined based on observable physical traits. Actual lineage and birth date are rarely known.

Adoption Fees:
-$60 for cats
-$60 for dogs over 6 years
-$80 for dogs 6 months old to 6 years
-$100 for puppies up to 6 months
