Petco Foundation Invests in Lifesaving Work of Humane Society of the Ouachitas
Grant of $5,000 will extend efforts to save more animal lives
Humane Society of the Ouachitas (HSO) announced it has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the Petco Foundation to help provide affordable services to pet parents in Polk County.
The Petco Foundation investment will help increase access to pet care for local pet owners, including services such as spay-neuter, vaccinations, and other critical needs that pet owners may have barriers receiving.
“Thanks to Petco Foundation’s gift to HSO, many locally owned dogs and cats will receive the services they need. When pets receive the services they need, it benefits our entire community in the form of fewer unwanted litters, fewer strays and less disease in our pet population,” said Cheryl Murphy at HSO. “Thank you Petco Foundation for investing in the quality of life of pets and the people who love them.”

About the Petco Foundation
At the Petco Foundation, we believe that every animal deserves to live its best life. Since 1999, we’ve invested more than $260 million in lifesaving animal welfare work to make that happen. With our more than 4,000 animal welfare partners, we inspire and empower communities to make a difference by investing in adoption and medical care programs, spay and neuter services, pet cancer research, service and therapy animals, and numerous other lifesaving initiatives. Through our Think Adoption First program, we partner with Petco stores and animal welfare organizations across the country to increase pet adoptions. So far, we’ve helped more than 6.5 million pets find their new loving families, and we’re just getting started. Visit petcofoundation.org to learn more about how you can get involved.
